On this International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the achievements of women around the world, whilst acknowledging the work that still needs to be done for women everywhere to live free, full and equal lives.

Women’s rights are human rights and the struggle for gender equality is inseparable from the fight for economic and social justice. Women continue to be  disproportionately affected by poverty, discrimination, and violence, and we must continue the fight against all forms of injustice, and for dignity for all people.

This struggle is not limited to sex and gender alone, but intersects with the other forms of oppression including homophobia, racism and ableism.  Together, we can create a more just and equitable world. Happy International Women’s Day!
